Justin Siris

I fell into UX research through the side door. After finishing my MBA and Human Factors in Information Design masters, I expected to end up in corporate strategy. Instead, I discovered that understanding why people struggle with software was far more interesting than quarterly earnings reports.

Eight years later, I'm still energized by that moment when a research finding clicks into place, when scattered observations suddenly reveal a pattern that unlocks better design decisions. I specialize in enterprise platform research, where the challenges are gnarly: complex workflows, diverse user types, and systems that need to work for both the expert and the occasional user.

Recently, I've been focused on AI-augmented research by building custom tools that accelerate synthesis and scale insights across distributed teams. At Home Depot, I built an AI research agent using enterprise Gemini that cut transcript coding time by 60%. At U.S. Bank, I led discovery for an AI metadata extractor that now saves bankers an hour daily in manual data entry.

What I'm Especially Good At:

  • Designing scalable research programs (like my 28-state field study at Home Depot)

  • Mixed-methods research that combines qual depth with quant validation

  • Translating complex findings into executive-level insights that drive strategy

  • Building research operations that enable teams to move fast without sacrificing rigor

When I'm not talking to users, I'm usually behind a camera. My photography background shows up in my research, I'm constantly looking for the telling detail, the moment that reveals something true.
