Create a new digital system to help employees find relevant information to HR and IT related questions

Project impact:
Enabled us to validate that users were able to find content through the navigational structure that was build based on the information architecture that was created and validated through the card sorting activities.

Define the problem
Worked with stakeholders to define the problem space and decide what aspects of the overall experience is in an out of scope for this research. Established clear timelines based on the project team's needs and the scope of this research.

Problem Statement:

Ensure that the Information Architecture, created with input from the open and closed card sorting studies, is generalizable to a large segment of employees across the company.

Create study plan
Define project background, business objectives, research objectives, timeline, and specific questions to ask participants during the study. Work with design, product, and development stakeholders to validate the information in the test plan and ensure the stakeholder's key questions are addressed.

Recruit and schedule participants
Recruited 100 users from R&D, IT, HR, Sales, Operations. In multiple countries.

Run sessions
Used UserZoom to run an unmoderated tree test of the new navigation.

Analyze data
Used UserZoom to analyze the data.

Create presentation
Created a slide deck to share findings about the changes that needed to be made to the main navigation of the website

Present findings
Presented findings to design team leadership.

Follow-up
Implemented a navigational structure for the website with the confidence that it would be intuitive to end users across the company.
